Today's world is filled with things that make plus-size living seem easier than a fit life. From decadent desserts to comfy recliners that make you never want to leave, it's hard to keep fit in a super-sized world. The good news is you can beat the odds, live your best life, and still be fit.
Don't Live To Eat
It's important to eat to live instead of living to eat. Some people grow up in an environment where brownies made by mom mean comfort. This can be true, but once it gets stuck in your head that you must have brownies every time you're sad, it becomes an issue. Instead of brownies when you're sad, choose a healthier alternative. Instead of dreaming of sugary desserts filled with calories that you live for, dream of colorful fruits that bring you happiness and health.
Set Realistic Goals
There are so many fad diets out there. They claim you can lose a huge amount of weight in a short time. If you do, it's probably water weight. It'll all come right back on once you go back to normal eating. Instead of trying to drop a lot in a little time, go for baby steps. Be healthy on a daily basis. You'll slowly notice your body reacting positively. You won't be so sluggish. You'll better fit in your skinny jeans. Little changes lead to big things. Don't go crazy trying to go for the fads when they are a fad for a reason.
Get Some Sleep
If you have no energy, there's no way you'll be able to push through the day in stride. If you aren't getting a good amount of sleep, your body will show it. Your body reacts to feeling tired many times by craving sugar. You're tired so you eat more trying to feel better. If you just get some rest, you'll have the energy needed to attack your day and you won't be so hungry for random food. Invest in a luxury mattress that helps you feel rested without tossing and turning all night. Your bed is where you spend many hours a week. It should be a place of peace and solace so you can get the rest you need. They don't call it beauty sleep for nothing.
You don't have to run a marathon each week to stay in shape. Get 30 minutes of exercise a few times a week. Get that heart rate boosted so you can burn extra calories. If you're at the beginning stages of working out, just try to get off the couch and move around more. No more excuses. With modern exercise equipment, you can watch Netflix on your fitness equipment instead of the sofa! You don't have to start big. Health is a lifestyle. You have to choose this healthy lifestyle and get moving to stick with it. You can eat cake every day if you choose, but you need to compromise with a workout to compensate for that cake. Whether you're walking to the end of the block or running ten miles a day, your workout is up to you.
Try Healthy Foods
Some people never eat healthy because they grew up eating fast food and think healthy food is just tasteless broccoli thrown on a plate. Healthy food can be just as good as a greasy hamburger. If seasoned properly, you could probably eat a piece of cardboard and enjoy it. The point is that you need to try healthy food before you throw it away in your mind. Try a new thing each week. You may hate some and love others. Living on fast food isn't a healthy lifestyle. Even when fast-food chains pair healthy foods with greasy foods, your body is losing out in the end. Remember, you get fit in the gym but you lose weight in the kitchen.
Dance Like No One's Watching
A small way to be fit in a plus-size world is to dance. Jump around with the kids, dance to the radio, and get moving watching television. If you dance like no one's watching, you'll have fun and burn calories at the same time. Being fit doesn't have to be boring. Make up your own moves. Take a fun salsa dance class. If you get all your limbs moving, you'll notice a feeling of fitness and laughter taking over your entire body.
