Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 57 reviews.
Well built bar. The multiple grip angles are great. The bar has just the right amount of knurling.
Great product, my only reason for not giving 5 stars was the box was beat up and had holes scraped in to it and I received it missing 2 bolts and 3 washers. I suggest packing it tighter so it doesn’t slide around in the box.
I still haven’t received it. It was delivered to wrong address ao I still haven’t received it. I’m excited to get it and sure i’ll be happy when i do but still waiting.
The bar is great. Dealing with the middle hole on each bracket is challenging. A regular driver can’t access the hole straight on, so the bolt for that hole gets screwed in off kilter. Frustrating, but once in it’s fine…the bolts are beefy. Working well for a 215lb family member.
Built an exterior pull up station for my son and I. This bar has all the different grips we wanted and install was easy. Good build quality. My only complaint on the construction of the mounting frame is that the center lag bolt hole is nearly impossible to get a clean bolt through.
Sturdy build. Just as good as most gyms. No knurling so will probably tape. I had to use different hardware for mounting in my situation but the lags that come with it are definitely stout enough if you are working with studs.
The bar feels very sturdy so far. I definitely look and feel like the baddest mofo on the block with this in my back yard.
My only complaint is the bar/ grips could use some more knurling, for more so grip and also aesthetics. It just looks and feels like extra lumps of powder were sprayed on for added grip.
I also hung a dip bar on the other wall. The set ups pretty nice. If you had a Gronk branded dip bar to sell with this I feel like that should sell well.
Also as seen I hung on brick and had to buy anchors to bolt to the wall. It worked really well, used some 3/8 x 4”. So maybe sell some block hanging kits as an add on.
This thing is SOLID and I love it! No worries about it being able to support substantial weight; the welds all look very good, the steel is heavy duty and the different hand positions is awesome for getting a great pull-up / chin-up workout for the lats, etc.
Seems like a quality bar. Welds and coating were good. However the wall mount was crooked on one side. Verified with a level. I was still able to get it installed.
Reversed the bar - works great
Bought this a while ago but was unable to put up until last weekend. It is a very solid piece. We have a low ceiling so I have the bar actually the reverse of the picture & it works great. I also really like all the different hand positions from that this bar in particular allows for. Pretty easy to instal. I would definitely recommend this bar. I will try to post some pictures of my fat-a$$ doing some pull ups soon.
Researched 30 pull up bars - winner!!
Arrived today- I researched 30 wall mounted pull up bars. Picked this one cause the angle grip option is easier on the wrists and ratings/reviews were the best.
material and quality is outstanding. Easy install. Surface hand grip isnt too slick or too rough, just right. I might still add some sort of rubber tape. Bar is actually a little higher when installed which I liked since Im 64 and can hang with my legs at full extension. Straight bar height is around 105inches mounted to a 95in header(top screw). Very sturdy. Would buy again and recommend.
Outstanding bar
The design and manufacture are top-notch. It seems to be of commercial quality.
The various hand-grip options are great, and allow for relieving wrist strain.
Solid and well made
While not officially supported, I mounted it upside down. The welds look good, I’m not worried. Everything was square so installation was easy.
Great pull up bar
I usually dont leave many reviews, but this is a great product. Be patient when installing it to do it right. I suggest assembling the bar first before installing it or drilling any holes,. Sturdy and well made, a bit expensive but worth it. Cant go wrong with this one.
Sturdy as heck, but not square.
I am definitely glad I bought this, but if I wanted mount this into the studs I don't think I would have been able to. The bottom was about 47 inches, maybe less.
Awesome
We just built a house and this was my first purchase. I love it in the garage. The house is going to come down before this thing dose! Awesome, sturdy product.
Great design built with high quality
Rocks. Really well made and easy to install. Super sturdy after mounted and multiple hand positions for a complete workout.
Super Heavy Duty
This is way bigger than you think if you're not paying attention to the size. Good bye door pull up bars, this thing belongs in a commercial gym, and I'm pumped to have gotten it for my home gym because I'll be able to hang other grips off of it, too. It's no joke, and it's even gotten my son excited to start doing pull ups. No excuses not be in phenomenal shape with this among our equipment. I can't recommend it highly enough, and it showed up relatively. quick what with almost all exercise equipment on backorder.
Great equipment, pretty simple install
Very sturdy, pretty easy easy install. I did it alone. But two people would be a snap. Might be tricky finding right stud spacing that fits where you want it in your gym. Windows and corners can throw off spacing. Once I found a spot it was easy. Make sure you get dead center on studs. Not really any directions in my box, just hardware and dimensions.
Perfect for the firehouse
quality pull up bar. Mounts strong and sturdy. I like the different hand positions. Also using for a TRX mount. Highly recommend.
Spot-On Addition to Any Fitness Room!
The Gronk Chin-up bar is everything youre looking for to round out your work-outs so you can achieve the physique that makes you want to take your shirt off every chance you get!
Its nice and wide. So, you can begin with easier narrow grip chin-ups and gradually progress to full-on wide grips to allow you to really hit the lower lats. Plus, the many other grips ensure you can alternate to hit various core, back, shoulder, etc. muscles and to do so in a manner that suits your body, so as to avoid injury.
Its great for knee-ups and leg lifts as well so you can really attack the abs and obliques. The fact that it is so rock solid and can be gripped in so many ways helps you to concentrate on perfect form so you get stronger faster for ultimate results. In other words, your progress is all mental once you get this baby up!
The powder-coat finish feels great in your hands...no slipping but without the need for knurling or plastic grips. Combined with a perfect tube diameter, it makes for a great feel when you grab it. It just makes you feel strong and confident...the bar just feels right; so, its all up to you to gut it out and get results!
Is it a pain to mount? Well...sure it takes some forethought, the proper tools, and a bit of work. But, Its well worth it! Is it out of square? The unit is very well constructed...but, sure, there is a bit of variance such that the assembled unit may not be 100% perfectly square. On mine, it seemed one of the holes connecting the bar to the bracket was drilled a bit off and that bracket was rotated slightly because of this. But this type of thing is an easy fix IF you plan ahead.
Just ASSEMBLE PRIOR TO MOUNTING AND THEN DRY FIT BEFORE DRILLING ANY HOLES...check where all the holes will end up via creating a template (or see below) and also see if the fully assembled unit sits flat on a hard floor. Mine didnt, so I planned ahead to put a thick, strong rubber pad under the bracket end that was not going to make flush contact with the wall. Worked like a charm.
Instead of messing with a template - I hung the assembled unit by the two top bolts (making sure it was level before drilling second hole) and then marked where to drill the other holes in order to get the anchors in the exact right spots. Yes, the unit is heavy and I had to disassemble and reassemble it a couple of times. But it bolted right up once Id drilled and set the anchors.
Last thing...the included lag screws are CRAP steel. I was able to shear the head off of one of them with my half-inch socket drive. That should NOT be possible! So, I replaced all the provided lag bolts with solid stainless ones (not because stainless is necessarily super strong but because I then knew for sure they were made of good steel.) I was able to then crank down on the new bolts with all the torque I cared to use. That thing is not going anywhere! I also replaced all the flimsy washers that came with the unit. They are too thin and probably poor quality steel as well.
Despite having to drop some extra cash on stronger lag bolts, I could not be happier with this unit. Yes, I believe it could absolutely hold 800 lbs...no question.
Fantastic piece of equipment and assembly options
ROCK SOLID and good assembly method allows for walls that aren't perfect.
I used Rustoleum truck bed liner (Its a fine texture) to paint other items and it matches perfect.
I used this in a commercial gym but plan to get one for myself at home.
The ACTUAL mounting dimensions are 48" wide on center of the mounting holes. (center of left hole to the center of the right hole)
This makes the overall width of the unit 50"
Sturdy as heck
I am definitely glad I bought this, but if I wanted mount this into the studs I don't think I would have been able to. The bottom was about 47 inches, maybe less.
